USER GUIDE

Everything you need to know, in nine steps.

From saving your first formula to printing a label that is ready for your market. Read it in order, or jump to what you need.

Your formulas

All your saved formulas are kept in one place. It is the first page you see after signing in.

  • 1 Press “New formula” to start from an empty sheet.
  • 2 Use the search bar or categories to find a formula.
  • 3 Open any formula to continue exactly where you stopped.
  • GOOD TO KNOW

Your formulas are saved to your account, so they are the same on your phone and computer.

    Ask Alchi for a formula

Alchi is your formulation assistant. Before writing a formula, he asks you a few short questions, one at a time, so the result fits exactly what you want.

  • 1 Open Alchi with the round button at the bottom of the screen.
  • 2 Describe the product you want, for example “a light face cream for oily skin”.
  • 3 Alchi asks three short questions. Pick an answer, or write your own in the field below.
  • 4 Each new question is shaped by your previous answers. If two answers conflict, Alchi warns you and offers a better option.
  • 5 Last, choose your batch size in grams and press “Build my formula”.
  • Not sure what to choose? Pick “You pick for me” and Alchi decides for you.

    Get your formula

Alchi writes the full formula: your answers at the top, then ingredients, percentages, phases and numbered steps for the lab.

  • 1 Read the formula and the notes under each step.
  • 2 Press “Apply to calculator” to open it in the calculator.
  • 3 Your batch size is already filled in.
  • Every formula is checked against the calculator’s safety limits before you see it. If something is wrong, Alchi fixes it first.

Check a formula you already have

Paste your own formula with its percentages and Alchi will review it instead of writing a new one.

  • 1 Paste each ingredient with its percentage into the chat.
  • 2 Mention the problem if you have one, for example “my cream feels grainy”.
  • 3 Alchi lists only the real problems and explains each one.
  • 4 Choose: fix my formula with my ingredients, or build a new one.
  • The more complete your list, the more precise the review.

Recreate a product from its label

Take a photo of any product’s ingredient list and Alchi builds a similar formula you can make yourself.

  • 1 In Alchi, press “Decode a product”.
  • 2 Press “Take photo” or “Upload photo” and capture the ingredient list.
  • 3 Check the product name and the ingredients Alchi read, then press “Decode formula”.
  • 4 You get a formula with real ingredients you can buy, sized to your batch.
  • Exact percentages are the maker’s secret, so each line is marked as Exact, Estimated or Substitute. Photos are never stored.

Add a raw material from its certificate

Scan a supplier’s Certificate of Analysis or spec sheet and the material is added to your bank for you.

  • 1 In the calculator, press “Add RM”.
  • 2 Press “Scan CoA / spec sheet” and choose a photo or PDF.
  • 3 Name, INCI, function and phase are filled in automatically.
  • 4 Minimum, maximum and legal limits are looked up for the category you chose, with their source.
  • 5 Check the fields and press “Save to bank”.
  • Limits change with the category. A level that is fine for body care can be too high for the face.

    Use the calculator

The calculator turns percentages into grams and warns you when something is outside a safe range.

  • 1 Set your batch size in grams at the top.
  • 2 Add ingredients and type their percentages.
  • 3 Watch the green and orange labels next to each line.
  • 4 Use the panel on the right for safety, conflicts and emulsifier balance (HLB).
  • Alchi uses the exact same safety rules, so the calculator and Alchi always agree.

    Ingredient label for your market

Every formula creates its ingredient (INCI) label in the right order, ready to print.

  • 1 Open the formula card and scroll to “INCI label”.
  • 2 Choose your market: EU, US FDA, Gulf (SFDA) or China.
  • 3 The label updates itself to that market’s rules and shows any warnings.
  • 4 Press “Edit” to change names or order if needed.
  • For the Gulf, Alchemix also warns about banned preservatives, restricted colours and the Arabic labelling rules.

    Share and export

The formula card shows your whole formula on one clean page, ready to share or print.

  • 1 From the calculator, open the formula card.
  • 2 Review the safety score, composition and batch size.
  • 3 Export to PDF, Word or Excel, in English or Arabic.
  • Your INCI label and market warnings are included in every export.

    Before you sell

Alchemix calculates and checks your formula, but only real lab tests can prove it is stable and safe. Test every new formula at 4°C, 25°C and 40°C before it reaches a customer.
